Apple is reminding iPhone 5 owners that they will need to update their phone to iOS 10.3.4 by November 3 to avoid disruptions with cloud services like iCloud, App Store, etc. The update is required to mitigate the GPS time rollover issue that started affecting other products in the market from April this year.
iOS 10.3.4 was released by Apple back in July itself to fix this GPS time rollover issue. The company is now just sending out reminders to iPhone 5 customers who still have not updated their device to it. If you own a 4th gen. iPad, you also need to update the device to iOS 10.3.4 to ensure the GPS works properly and the system date and time don’t go haywire.
Starting just before 12:00 a.m. UTC on November 3, 2019, iPhone 5 will require an iOS update to maintain accurate GPS location and to continue to use functions that rely on correct date and time including App Store, iCloud, email, and web browsing. This is due to the GPS time rollover issue that began affecting GPS-enabled products from other manufacturers on April 6, 2019. Affected Apple devices are not impacted until just before 12:00 a.m. UTC on November 3, 2019.
For iPhones and iPads older than iPhone 5s, Apple had released the iOS 9.3.6 update to fix the GPS time rollover issue.
A number of iOS system services and features rely on the time and date to work. An incorrect system time/date could prevent the App Store, iCloud, and other cloud services from working properly. If you do not update your iPhone 5 to iOS 10.3.4 by November 3, 2019, you will have to back up and restore it using a PC since iCloud backup and OTA updates will stop working due to incorrect time/date.

16-inch MacBook Pro References Found in macOS Catalina 10.15.1 Beta
References to the 16-inch MacBook Pro have been found in the developer beta of macOS 10.15.1. The image shows a MacBook Pro that looks similar to the existing 15-inch MacBook Pro but with smaller bezels surrounding the display.
There is also a “16” in the filename thereby confirming that we are indeed looking at Apple’s upcoming 16-inch MacBook Pro and not a 15-inch model. There is also another image in the macOS Catalina beta showing the 16-inch MacBook Pro in Space Gray color.
Apple is widely expected to release a 16-inch MacBook Pro this year. Apart from packing a bigger and higher resolution display, it is also expected to feature AMD’s new 7nm Navi GPUs which offer better performance and power efficiency. It will make use of Intel’s 9th generation Core processors and can be reportedly configured with up to an 8-core CPU. This MacBook Pro will see Apple dump its unreliable butterfly keyboard and mark the return of the scissor mechanism keyboard. Also Read:Audio Editing software

Photos of the 96W charger that Apple will bundle with the 16-inch MacBook Prohave also already leaked. macOS Catalina 10.15.1 beta also includes references for AMD’s RX 5700XT series thereby signaling a possible iMac refresh is around the corner.
Apple has not sent out any press invites for an October media event so far so it is unclear when the company will announce this 16-inch MacBook Pro, 2019 iPad Pros, iMac refresh, and more. Are you looking forward to a 16-inch MacBook Pro from Apple?
iOS 13: How to Enable Low Data Mode on iPhone to Save Cellular Data Usage
Apple has introduced a new Low Data Mode in iOS 13 which will help save mobile data or Wi-Fi data usage on your iPhone. One might have access to high-speed unlimited Wi-Fi and cellular data in their own home or city but that’s not true for everyone. In many parts of the world, mobile cellular data is still exorbitantly expensive and Wi-Fi networks have data caps as well.
This is where the new Low Data Mode in iOS 13 comes into play. It helps reduce your iPhone’s data usage thereby helping you get through times when you find yourself with access to an extremely slow mobile/cellular data connection or Wi-Fi network with a data cap. For people living in developed countries, this feature might be useful when they are on international roaming as most international data roaming packs have a very small data cap. This mode is also helpful for users who tend to end up burning through their monthly cellular data limit in no time at all.
What is Low Data Mode on iPhone?
Here’s what you can expect when you enable Low Data Mode on iPhone.
- Your iPhone will stop uploading photos to iCloud in the background. Similarly, all other background tasks like Apple News update, App Store app updates etc. will also stop.
- Video previews in the App Store and automatic download of new apps are also turned off.
- iOS will also actively prevent all your installed apps and games from using mobile data in the background to refresh their data.
- The quality of video and audio being streamed will also be optimized to reduce mobile data consumption.
- FaceTime calls are also affected as they have a lower bitrate when Low Data Mode is enabled.
- Low Data Mode works not just for mobile data but also for Wi-Fi.
How to Enable Low Data Mode on iPhone
Follow these simple steps to enable Low Data Mode on your iPhone:
Step 1: Go to Settings -> Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options.
This option might show up as Cellular Data in your Settings menu depending on the language preference and region of your iPhone.
Step 2: Enable the Low Data Mode toggle.
The good thing about the new mode is that your day-to-day experience of using the iPhone will not be affected at all. The overall experience remains largely the same, though since apps will not refresh in the background, you might not receive push notifications from them for any updates or changes.
If you try to download app, it will give you prompt informing you that the Low Data Mode has been enabled, if you still want to download the app. There doesn’t seem to be any limit for the file size, as I have got the message for an app which was only 2MB. You can tap on Download to continue downloading the app.
How to Enable Low Data Mode for Wi-Fi Networks
You can enable it for individual Wi-Fi networks, though you will have to manually enable it for every Wi-Fi network that you would like to use it with. The toggle under Mobile Data is not a universal toggle and it only works for mobile data, which makes sense as you probably don’t want to save data usage on Wi-Fi networks. For Wi-Fi networks, the toggle is located under Wi-Fi settings.
Follow these simple steps to enable Low Data Mode for a Wi-Fi network on your iPhone:
Step 1: Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi. Tap the Wi-Fi network name for which you’d like to enable Low Data mode. This can only be done for Wi-Fi networks that you had previously joined.
Step 2: Enable the Low Data Mode toggle.
It will now be active for that particular Wi-Fi network now.
One of the issues with the new mode is that there is no universal indicator in iOS 13 to show that it is enabled. You have to manually go into Settings to check if you have enabled/disabled it or not which is cumbersome. There’s no Shortcuts or Control Center toggle if you would like to enable or disable the feature quickly.Tips:Also Read:King Root and Its Best Alternative 2019

How to Fast Charge iPhone 11
Apple has finally gotten around to bundling an 18W USB-C fast charger with the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. However, the cheaper iPhone 11 continues to come with a paltry 5W charger. It does come with fast charging support and with the right accessories, you can fast charge your iPhone 11 as well.
Why Fast Charge Your iPhone 11?
Fast charging is a great feature to have if you are always on the go or always forget to charge your iPhone overnight. While fast charging works best when charging from 0-50%, the difference can be felt until around 80%. It is only after your iPhone 11 has charged to 80% that you will not see any impact of a fast charger as the device will start trickle charging. This is done to increase the lifespan of the battery.
Apple bundles a 5W charger with the iPhone 11 which takes almost 3.25 hours to charge the device to full. In fact, the iPhone 11 will charge faster wirelessly if you have a 7.5W or higher wireless charger.
With a fast charger, the total time taken to charge goes down to around 2 hours. That’s a notable reduction, but most importantly, it dramatically reduces the charging time from 0-80% which is what most people are going to appreciate. Your iPhone 11 will charge to 50% in just 30 minutes and to 80% in around an hour. After that though, due to trickle charging, the phone will take another hour to charge to 100%.
How to Fast Charge iPhone 11
Since Apple does not bundle a fast charger with the iPhone 11, you will have to buy one separately. Along with a fast charger, you will also have to buy a USB-C to Lightning cable since the bundled Lightning cable won’t do the job. These cables were expensive up until last year but ever since Apple opened up its MFi program for these cables to accessory makers, we have seen a notable reduction in their price.
Since the iPhone 11 supports USB-Power Delivery, you will have to buy a fast charger with USB-PD support. A Quick Charger/Dash Charger won’t do the job since they don’t support the USB-PD protocol.
Check out some third-party USB-PD chargers which we recommend you buy to fast charge your iPhone 11:
Aukey 18W Power Delivery 3.0 Charger
Anker USB C 30W with Power Delivery Charger
Choetech USB-C 39W Wall Charger
These chargers are either cheaper than Apple’s official 18W charger or offer more USB ports thereby allowing you to charge multiple devices at once.
For USB-C to Lightning cables, below are some of our recommendations:
Aukey USB-C to Lightning Cable ($11.99)
Choetech 6.6ft USB-C to Lightning Cable ($13.5)
Anker 3ft Nylon Braided USB-C to Lightning Cable ($21.99)
If you don’t want to buy a third-party cable or charger for whatever reason, you can buy the official USB-C to Lightning cable ($19) from Apple along with the 18W USB-C charger ($29). The total will come to around $50 which is a fair bit expensive and you won’t really get any extra benefit for using official Apple accessories except for perhaps peace of mind.Tips:

iPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max Ghost Touch
Basic Checks before Fixing This Issue
Before you consider other more advanced solutions, we recommend the following simple checks.
1. Check & Clean the iPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max Screen
Dirt and other debris on the screen have also been known to cause the problem. So, before you attempt anything else, try cleaning the screen.
Turn off the device before cleaning the device and then use a soft cloth and some alcohol to wipe the device's screen. You can also use a toothpick and soft tissue to clean the gaps between the screen and the device's body.
2. Check & Remove the iPhone Case
If your iPhone has a hard case attached to it, you should consider removing the case. This is particularly helpful if the hard case twists the screen. A slightly twisted screen will experience the ghost touch and if you dropped your device, the twisted hard case can affect the device. Also Read:Download video from JW Player

Google Voice Users Can Now Send Messages and Text via Siri
Google users will now be able to use Google Voice with Siri on iPhones. Yes, the feature seems to be a bit complicated. The latest Google Voice update adds Siri support to iOS.
Google users will now be able to use voice commands like “Hey Siri, call John on Google Voice.” Moreover, you can also use Google Voice to send voice messages on iOS. If you are someone who uses voice command a lot, then the feature will come in handy. Earlier, iPhone users had to use the app to access Google Voice.
In order for this to work, you will have to set a default account in the Google Voice app and then enable the option that reads “Use with Siri” in the iOS settings menu. Ironically Google Assistant still doesn’t support sending messages via Google Voice.
Google Voice service offers voice, text messaging and call forwarding services available in select countries including the U.S, Canada, Portugal, Netherlands, France, Sweden and the U.K. In all likelihood Apple’s new Callkit has helped add Siri support for Google Voice. Meanwhile, other Google apps like Maps already support Siri on iOS 13 and support Siri shortcut. Callkit uses a system-level interface that is similar to the iPhone’s call app. Also Read:Online Music Stores to buy MP3

The feature allows you to use Siri via Google Assistant. For instance, you can simply say “Turn on the lights, Google” and Siri will open Assistant to run the routine. We hope that Siri will start supporting Assistant control in the future. Also Read: Offline & Free Bile Apps

A-Series Chip Supplier Reports Increase in Sales, 5G Expected to Fuel the Demand in 2020
TSMC, the company that supplies Apple’s A Series chipset has reported strong Q3 sales and a 10% increase in year-on-year revenue. The net profits grew to $3.30 billion while the revenue rose to $9.2 billion.
Reuters reports explain how TSMC could beat expectations. It is worth noting that TSMC earns 49% of its revenue from sales to smartphone makers. TSMC’s results are positive despite the global slowdown and ongoing trade war between China and the United States. The report also mentions that China sales still account for 15% of total sales to smartphone manufacturers.
TSMC reported a 13.5% rise in third-quarter net profit to T$101.07 billion ($3.30 billion), its strongest growth since the first quarter of 2017, thanks to strong sales to smartphone makers. The profit figure compared with a T$96.33 billion average forecast drawn from 20 analysts, according to Refinitiv data. Also Read:HEVC/H.265 Converter

Revenue rose 10.7% to $9.4 billion, compared with the company’s own estimate of $9.1 billion to $9.2 billion.
Sales earned from smartphone makers accounted for 49% of its total revenue.
Our Take
TSMC rising sales figures can be partly attributed to the new iPhones. Huawei has managed to ship 185 million smartphones this year and is likely to have contributed to TSMC’s increase in sales. A recent report believes that Apple will sell 10% more iPhones in Q1 2020 as opposed to last year. Furthermore, Apple is expected to ship 70-75 million units of iPhone 11. Meanwhile, the demand is only expected to become stronger with the increasing demand for 5G and new 7nm chips from TSMC.

Major Security Vulnerability Discovered in Samsung Galaxy S10’s Under-Display Fingerprint Scanner
A major security vulnerability has been discovered on the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series that allows one to bypass the fingerprint scanner even if their fingerprint is not registered with the device. This happens when certain gel-based screen protectors are applied on the Galaxy S10’s display.
The Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner that is very different from the optical in-display fingerprint scanner found on the likes of the OnePlus 7 Pro and Huawei P30 Pro. One of the limitations of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is that it does not work with third-party tempered screen protectors. This is the reason why Samsung sells these phones with a screen protector pre-applied.Also Read:Audio Editing software
Also Read:ListentoYouTube Alternatives
However, most users do end up replacing the default screen protector and as one user found out, using a cheap gel-based screen protector is actually not good from a security viewpoint.
A Galaxy S10 owner in the UK got a cheap £2.70 screen protector from eBay for her Galaxy S10 and later discovered that her husband was able to access her phone by scanning his thumbs even though his fingerprint was not registered. This happens because gel-based screen protectors leave a small gap between the display and the scanner which ends up interfering with the scanning process. Also Read:King Root and Its Best Alternative 2019

Samsung has already acknowledged the issue and while it has put the blame on the cheap screen protector, it promises to resolve the issue with a future software update. While the issue occurred with the Galaxy S10, it is also applicable for the Galaxy Note 10 since it also features the same ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
When the Galaxy S10 was first launched, Samsung highlighted its ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner as being more secure than the competition. However, the fingerprint scanner was widely panned for being slow and as this incident shows, it does not really seem to offer much in terms of security as well.
Photoshop CC for iPad Still Releasing in 2019 Albeit Without Many Key Features
Last year, Adobe had announced that it was bringing full-fledged Photoshop CC to the iPad in 2019. Since then, the company has been mum about the app, though it did start accepting beta applications for it in May this year. A new report confirms that Adobe is on track to release Photoshop CC for the iPad in 2019.
To meet the deadline though, the initial version of the app will lack a number of key features found on its desktop counterpart. Adobe will officially provide an update about Photoshop CC for the iPad at its MAX conference in November this year.
Many users who have been beta testing the iPad app have been unhappy with the number of key features it lacks especially with filters, pen, color spaces, RAW editing, smart objects, and layer styles.
“Feature-wise, it feels like a beefed-up cloud-based version of their existing iPad apps and not ‘real Photoshop’ as advertised,” said someone beta-testing the software, who declined to be named talking about an unreleased app. “I understand it is based on desktop Photoshop code, but it doesn’t feel like it right now.” Other testers have called the app “rudimentary” and said, in its current state, it is inferior to other apps like Procreate and Affinity on the iPad.
Scott Belsky, chief product officer of Adobe’s Creative Cloud division, said that the company is working on a lot of features with Apple and they will be “coming in hot” before launch. He also said that it was impossible to launch Photoshop CC on the iPad with all the features found on the desktop app which has accumulated over 25 years.
“Launching every single feature that was accumulated over 25 years on the iPad on day one would not best serve our customers and the needs they have.” Usage on a desktop and an iPad isn’t “apples to apples,” he said, and Adobe “will definitely expand the capabilities” of Photoshop on iPad over time. Also Read:Download video from JW Player
Also Read:Fix Screenshot on Mac
Photoshop CC for iPad will allow users to open and edit native PSD files without destroying the original file. It will also feature cloud syncing with Adobe’s creative cloud meaning all changes to a file will be synced to the cloud and all devices and machines linked to that account. This will allow users to start a project on their iPad and then seamlessly continue editing it on their laptop or PC.

iPhone Black Screen of Death? Here Is the Real Fix
iPhone black screen is a common problem, but it can be a big problem since you can't access the iPhone in any way. Sometimes, even when someone calls, you can hear the phone ring but the screen remains black and you can't answer the phone. Sometimes, your iPhone just gets stuck on a black screen after the iOS firmware update. This problem also happens to the users who are updating iPhone to iOS 13/12. This article explains the causes of the iPhone black screen and offers three solutions to fix this all too common problem.
Causes of iPhone Black Screen
There are lots of reasons why your iPhone's screen suddenly goes black. One possible reason could be hardware damage due to improper screen replacement, bad screens, dropping the device or water damage. Sometimes the problem could be as a result of a software issue which can be caused by firmware modifications that didn't quite go as planned, system crash, jailbreaking and so on. The following are 3 of the most effective ways to fix the problem and you can try them even when your device is running iOS 13/12.
2.1. Hard Reset Your iPhone to Fix iPhone Black Screen of Death
When your iPhone gets a black screen and won't turn on, the first thing to do is to perform a hard reset. See the following steps.
Step 1. Locate the Home button and the Sleep/Wake buttons on your iPhone.
Step 2. Press and hold the Home button and Sleep/Wake button at the same time until the Apple logo appears.
Step 3. After that release, the buttons and your iPhone will restart.
If you are using iPhone 7, just hold the Volume Down button instead of the Home button.
If you are using iPhone 8 or later, quick press Volume Up button and then Volume Down button. Hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo. Also Read:10 URL to MP3 Converter

If hard resets fail, then opt to restore your iPhone using iTunes.
2.2. Restore iPhone to Factory Settings for iPhone Black Screen Fix
Another method to fix iPhone black screen of death is using iTunes. Here is how to do it.
Step 1. Download and open the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
Step 2. Connect your iPhone to the computer with a USB cable. If iTunes detects your iPhone, and offer a restore option to you, you can just click Restore button to wipe your iPhone. If iTunes cannot recognize your iPhone stuck on a black screen, you need to put your iPhone in Recovery mode. Check this guide to know how to enter iPhone Recovery mode.
Step 3. Once the iPhone is detected by iTunes, you will be offered with the option of Restore iPhone. Click "Restore" to confirm the action.
Step 4. After that, iTunes will begin erasing your iPhone. It will then install the latest iOS software, currently iOS 12 on your iPhone.
Step 5. Once it finishes, your iPhone will restart. Proceed and set it up as a new device.
This method, however, results in data loss. For a better and safer solution to this problem, this solution is not recommended.
If you don't care about the data on your device, then go ahead.
3. Put iPhone/iPad in Recovery Mode without Home Button
The Home button on your iPhone is an important one. Until the release of the iPhone 7, it seems it is very little you can do on the iPhone without involving the home button. Therefore, we all agree that the home button is important. However, what happens when you drop the device and the home button gets damaged and cracked? What should you do when you can't use the home button and you need to put the device in recovery mode? Every method to put your device in recovery mode requires holding down the home button. Is there a way to do it without a home button? In the part, we will show you how to make it. This way you can fix whatever issue your device is facing even if the home button is not working.
